Where are the official v0.4.19 patch notes?
v0.4.19 landed on September 6, 2026, later the same day as v0.4.17 — three patches in Early Access’s first three days, as CanOpener noted in its September 6 “Your Feedback in Action” post. This one is almost entirely balance and player-feedback response.
What changed in v0.4.19?
Per the official notes:
- Expedition Founding reroll locks — you can now lock individual character elements, including portraits, ability stats, Major Traits (which determine skilltrees), and Sub Traits
- Default difficulty changed from Hard to Normal for new games
- Gloth summoning skill capped at three uses, down from unlimited
- Gloths now move to an empty tile within one tile of their target after charging
- Item drop quantity penalty removed on Very Hard and Devastation Management difficulties
- Item weights reduced across armor, helmets, bones, stone, clay, hard shells, silver and copper ores and ingots, bricks, and pottery
- Maximum arrow stack size increased from 100 to 200
- A guide for Auto Skills was added in-game
How does this change a new run?
Three practical shifts for anyone starting after September 6:
- New games start on Normal, not Hard. The first-difficulty-screen default flipped; you can still pick Hard manually.
- Rerolling founders is far less painful. Lock what you like (portrait, stats, traits) and reroll only what you don’t — previously every Recruit Again rerolled everything.
- Carry weight breathes. Between the across-the-board weight cuts, 200-arrow stacks, and the removal of the drop-quantity penalty on the two hardest difficulties, inventory pressure eases at every difficulty tier.
What is CanOpener working on next?
Per the same “Your Feedback in Action” post, changes in preparation “ASAP”:
- Expanding the level-up lock option for Ability stat increases and Inscriptions to all difficulties (currently Easy and Normal only)
- Granting vision of an enemy’s tile when they attack from outside the party’s field of view
- Reducing the burden of resting too frequently due to Stamina
- Adjusting how far units detour during combat to reduce unexpected movement in narrow passages
- Improving situations where units cannot move because tiles were reserved by monsters
Planned wording stays planned — no ship date was given for any of these.
