FAQ

Can my Mac run Dungeon Settlers?
Probably. The official Mac requirements are macOS 11.0 Big Sur or newer, an Intel 64-bit or Apple Silicon processor, 4 GB of RAM, a Metal-capable GPU, and 2 GB of storage. Mac support has existed since the demo version, per an edit to the studio's demo announcement.
Is there a recommended spec for Dungeon Settlers?
No. The Steam page publishes only a minimum tier for PC and Mac. The launch-day roadmap notes that optimization has "barely been done yet," so headroom above minimum is prudent if you have it.
Does Dungeon Settlers support Linux or Steam Deck?
Linux is not supported at launch — the roadmap lists Linux support for the V1.0 release (estimated Q3 2028). Steam Deck is rated Playable by Valve; see our Steam Deck guide for the caveats.

Dungeon Settlers launched on Steam for Windows and macOS on September 4, 2026. The official requirements are low — a decade-old laptop clears the minimum. Here’s the full breakdown from the Steam page.

Will it run on Steam Deck or Linux?

  • Steam Deck: rated Playable by Valve — controller icons, small text, and manual resolution setup are the caveats. Details: Dungeon Settlers on Steam Deck
  • Linux: not at launch. The official roadmap lists Linux support among the V1.0 plans (estimated Q3 2028)

One performance caveat for Early Access

The launch-day roadmap is candid that optimization has “barely been done yet” — some machines reportedly crash on entering the game, and updating the graphics driver is the suggested first fix. If you’re on minimum-spec hardware, expect the experience to improve across Early Access; see our known issues page.
