Dungeon Settlers Early Access Roadmap & Patch Cadence

What CanOpener plans for the two-year Dungeon Settlers EA window — new regions, races, balance passes, and Steam Workshop timeline.

9/2/2026 Dungeon Settlers Wiki 3 min read

CanOpener will publish a launch-day Early Access roadmap on September 4, 2026 alongside the EA build going live. Until then, this page summarizes the studio’s stated intent for the EA window.

How long will Early Access last?

The studio estimates approximately two years of Early Access for Dungeon Settlers, with that estimate open to change based on development progress and community feedback. Think of EA as “feature-complete, content-in-progress” — the core loop is final; the world inside it is being built out.

Planned content additions

Across the EA window CanOpener has stated plans to introduce:

  • Additional regions beyond the two shipping at launch
  • Additional monsters, weapons, and skills — each tied to the new regions
  • New races to recruit into your colony
  • Random and scripted events to keep expeditions varied
  • Modding support and Steam Workshop integration — on the longer-term roadmap

Planned quality-of-life work

It’s not all new content. CanOpener has also called out:

  • Balance adjustments based on the alpha and Steam Playtest feedback
  • Interface improvements — the alpha flagged gather-marker / auto-collect UX issues that were addressed in the launch build; expect more polish passes
  • Optimization — important as content density grows
  • Further localization — beyond the six languages shipping at launch

What about patch cadence?

There is no public commitment to a fixed patch cadence yet. What’s known:

  • The launch-day roadmap (September 4, 2026) is slated to clarify the priority order across the content and quality-of-life lists above
  • Community feedback is explicitly part of how CanOpener says the EA plan will adjust

Until the roadmap publishes, treat any claimed patch schedule as speculation.

What this wiki will do

For every meaningful patch we will:

  1. Add or update the relevant guide under guides/ or mechanics/
  2. Update the article’s gameVersion and lastModified fields
  3. Re-run pnpm check-content && pnpm build to keep the build green
  4. If a guide is invalidated, flag it in the article header
